Wayanad Trip - Soochipara Waterfalls

20 November, 2010

More Shots

This was the first place we went, we were thinking which one to hit first and after we left the hotel we were walking on the road and saw a board sign which says 'Soochipara Waterfalls' 35km, we said, lets hit this one first.

If you take a local bus they'll drop you 3km away from the waterfalls and you have to walk, we didn't feel tired because the location is so beautiful and we couldn't stop clicking. After 2 km you will reach a spot where you see tourist buses and shops and from there you have to walk 1 km to the waterfalls its a downhill, very steep in some places.

After a long walk we reached the waterfalls its like seeing a heaven in front of us, all you hear is the water sound and some birds. It was so peaceful and Silent.

Thank God we had laptop and transferred all the pictures time to time or else i couldn't have clicked these many pictures.

Note: I shot some video will post soon.

[Soochipara Falls also known as Sentinel Rock Waterfalls is a spectacular three tiered waterfalls in Vellarimala, surrounded by dense equatorial forest vegetation. Locally referred to as Soochipara (meaning "Needle-like Rock), the 15-20 minute drive from Meppadi to Sentinel Rock Waterfalls offers scenic views of some of the best tea estates in Wayanad. The Sentinel Rock Waterfalls is 200 metres (656 feet) and offers a cliff face that is ideal for rock climbing. The Waterfalls and the surrounding areas have dense equatorial forest vegetation - Wikipedia]
